HOW CAMPWATT OPERATES

We show the assumptions and keep the limits visible.

What the planner does

CampWatt estimates nameplate battery capacity, continuous AC output, surge output, and charging time from the values you enter. It does not certify a product, guarantee runtime, or establish electrical compatibility.

Why the result is conservative

AC and DC conversion losses, battery usable fraction, a schedule reserve, and output headroom are applied separately. Duty cycle affects energy but not the full running watts an inverter must support while a device is on. Capacity is never rounded down.

U.S. compatibility boundary

Users must verify 120V/60Hz, the plug and grounding arrangement, continuous and surge limits, waveform requirements, and every DC port's voltage, current, connector, polarity, and protocol. A mechanical plug adapter does not convert electricity.

Medical and life-safety boundary

CampWatt must not be used to size, certify, or guarantee backup power for medical or life-sustaining equipment. Follow the device manufacturer, care provider, utility, and emergency plan.

Privacy and cost control

There is no account, contact form, behavioral advertising, or analytics cookie. Calculator inputs are processed in the browser and are not stored. CampWatt keeps only anonymous daily aggregate counts for valid calculations, eligible product views, no-matches, and affiliate clicks. The U.S. edition begins as a small pilot, without paid traffic or mass-generated pages.

Revenue links

If an approved affiliate link is active, a plain-language commission disclosure appears next to it. Commission does not change the calculation or justify claims such as “best,” “guaranteed,” or “compatible.” If no approved link is configured, the buying button stays hidden.
